The AT6 Texan:
Equip with a Radial Pratt & Whitney R-1340 AN-1 reaching level speeds of 212 mph and a travel distance of 870 miles. Now this team has been flying these birds for 20 years from insertions the AT6 Texan has been around for 74 years and has been used in many movies dubbing other aircraft. For example, in Tora! Tora! Tora! and The Final Countdown, converted single-seat T-6s painted in Japanese markings represent Mitsubishi Zeroes, whereas in A Bridge too Far it represented the razorback Republic P-47 Thunderbolt.
But today there is a new Texan the T-6 Texan II powered still by Pratt & Whitney CanadaPT6A68 turboprop a 1,100 shp. range 1036 miles with a service ceiling of 31,000 ft. Now not to take anything away from the WWII birds but this is the new Mustang if you will and we will see teams performing the new Texan.
