The Old West a code of ethics, now think about that.  I was remembering when I was a boy growing up that the elders never called the cops’ or sued one another over differences.  Every difference was settled at the school yard and over the neighbor’s fence.  But today where are we headed?  The true answer to that question is fed-up with the money changers.  If we were in the Old West right now we be having some lynchings in the town square.  That kept you right in the head, meaning not to be screwing people over like the screwing we are getting now.

But seriously this is getting better; lets just look at the definition of ethics.

Ethics

from IEP (Internet encyclopedia of philosophy)

The field of ethics (or moral philosophy) involves systematizing, defending, and recommending concepts of right and wrong behavior. Philosophers today usually divide ethical theories into three general subject areas: metaethics, normative ethics, and applied ethics.  Metaethics investigates where our ethical principles come from, and what they mean. Are they merely social inventions?  Do they involve more than expressions of our individual emotions? Metaethical answers to these questions focus on the issues of universal truths, the will of God, the role of reason in ethical judgments, and the meaning of ethical terms themselves.  Normative ethics takes on a more practical task, which is to arrive at moral standards that regulate right and wrong conduct.  This may involve articulating the good habits that we should acquire, the duties that we should follow, or the consequences of our behavior on others. Finally, applied ethics involves examining specific controversial issues, such as abortion, infanticide, animal rights, environmental concerns, homosexuality, capital punishment, or nuclear war.

Basically knowing right from wrong and the treatment of others.  Oh ya this is the biggest rant going on right now and society is changing direction, this is where it gets better.

Code of Ethics

Well how about that, come on, that has to make you feel better knowing a brotherhood of man really gives a damn!  We are just getting started for out of the University of Harvard a code of ethics is being adopted.

From the New York Times

Published: May 29, 2009

When a new crop of future business leaders graduates from the Harvard Business School next week, many of them will be taking a new oath that says, in effect, greed is not good.

Nearly 20 percent of the graduating class have signed “The M.B.A. Oath,” a voluntary student-led pledge that the goal of a business manager is to “serve the greater good.” It promises that Harvard M.B.A.’s will act responsibly, ethically and refrain from advancing their “own narrow ambitions” at the expense of others.

What happened to making money?

That, of course, is still at the heart of the Harvard curriculum. But at Harvard and other top business schools, there has been an explosion of interest in ethics courses and in student activities — clubs, lectures, conferences — about personal and corporate responsibility and on how to view business as more than a money-making enterprise, but part of a large social community.

We are turning a corner and people on a whole are making it happen.  This is easy to understand and makes for a better society and morals in doing business.  But why this conscious of ethics is rounding the first turn the pressure is still on for some will not bend. Too Bad!  The reason one does not bend for it’s in their favor to capitalize and control.  A crazy mix for this type of behavior, one does not affect family or friends but will harm others and that’s OK .  Bullshit it’s not OK and welcome to the era of Share.

Who’s Crazy?

Where there is innovation, there is a warrior. Without such a leader, nothing meaningful gets done.
